Select a complete connection
An industrial connection needs a compatible plug and receiving connector or socket. Match the rated current, voltage/frequency, pole arrangement and earth-clock position, then check the mounting and environmental requirements. Colour and pin count alone cannot establish compatibility.
TPE supplies industrial electricals from Kolkata for plants, workshops and projects across India. This range organises the existing industrial plugs/sockets family. Ratings below are specification examples, not a list of stocked models.
Choose the physical format
Format | Procurement distinction |
|---|---|
Plug | Cable-side mating component; confirm exact compatible receiver |
Cable connector | Cable-mounted receiving component; cable entry/support matter |
Panel-mounted socket | Check cut-out, depth, flange and panel clearance |
Wall/surface-mounted socket | Check enclosure, entries, orientation and fixings |
Interlocked switched socket | Confirm the switching/interlock function and complete mating assembly |
Rating and environment checks
16 A, 32 A and 63 A identify current classes to discuss with the designer; they do not choose the connector voltage, poles or cable entry. State whether a neutral is required and provide the full contact marking. For a replacement, include photographs of both mating components and their ratings.
IP44 and IP67 describe different tested ingress-protection classes. The required protection may depend on whether the connection is mated or its cover is closed, and on the specified installation accessories. Confirm the selected series conditions; an IP number does not prove suitability for every chemical exposure or cleaning process.
A useful connection schedule
Use one line per matching connection, including both mating references where known. Add the mounting drawing and cable dimensions for mounted installations.
- Current class, voltage/frequency and phases
- Poles, neutral requirement and earth-clock position
- Plug/connector/socket format and mating reference
- Environment and protection required in each operating state
- Entry dimensions, mounting, quantity and delivery location

Questions about Industrial Plugs & Sockets
Can a 32 A plug replace a 16 A plug if the voltage is the same?
Do not assume interchangeability. Current class, dimensions, pole arrangement and keying must match the selected receiving component and approved circuit.
Are all blue industrial sockets interchangeable?
No. Verify the current, rated voltage/frequency, poles and earth-clock position from the exact series markings; colour alone is insufficient.
Does IP67 mean a connection can be pressure washed?
Not automatically. IP67 concerns dust and temporary immersion under defined test conditions. Confirm cleaning exposure, seals and mated/closed-state requirements with the manufacturer.
